SA Baxter collaborated with Drake/Anderson on a brand-new hardware line, which had an extraordinarily cool unveiling during New York Design Center’s biggest event of the year What’s New, What’s Next.
On Thursday September 12th, partners and clients, interior designers, architects, journalists, stylists and other design enthusiasts celebrated this buzzing afternoon discovering new products, gathered to see new collection’s launches and learned about the latest trends.
In the SA Baxter showroom on the building’s twelfth floor, guests witnessed a very unusual unveiling of the Flauto collection. We had levers and door pulls frozen in ice, as well as delicious “Baxter Manhattan” served through ice luges, guests chatted, while the ice was slowly melting.
At 4pm Jamie Drake, Caleb Anderson and Scott Baxter together unveiled the suite. The icy unveiling was followed by a design discussion on their creative collaboration, inspiration and importance of custom and forward-thinking designs, while respecting classic details.
The Flauto Collection, Modern meets Classic
Timelessness is at the core of our collaboration with Drake/Anderson, the fluted design traces its origin as far back as ancient Greece, revitalizing tapered forms through Flauto, making the collection forward-thinking with respect to classical detail. Further mindful of bespoke design, Flauto is available in both convex and concave form, giving variance in both style and texture to its pieces. Whether smooth or ribbed, the collection is truly sensational to both touch and sight.
The Flauto collection is comprised of a Door Lever, Rosette, Escutcheon Plate, Thumb Turn, Door Pull, and Cabinet Pull. Handcrafted in our Foundry and Atelier, each piece carries the SA Baxter mark, our master artisans’ signature ensuring that it has not only been made from the finest metals, but that it means the highest standards of design. The dynamic new collection is now available for purchase.
